Today we honor Imani (Faith).
Faith in ourselves.
Faith in our people.
Faith in the work we are called to continue.
Imani is not blind belief; it is rooted trust. It is the confidence that our ancestors’ wisdom still guides us, that our communities still hold strength, and that our future is worth investing in, even when the path forward is uncertain.
Faith is what sustains us when progress feels slow.
It is what anchors us when challenges arise.
It is what allows us to hope boldly and act courageously.
Imani invites us to reflect:
- What do we believe about ourselves and our collective power?
- How do we nurture faith in our children and in one another?
- How do we carry forward traditions, values, and dreams with confidence and care?
This final day reminds us that Kwanzaa does not end when the candles are extinguished. The principles live on through our choices, our commitments, and our daily actions. Faith is the bridge between what has been and what is still becoming.
As we light the seventh candle, may we move forward with trust and conviction.
May we believe deeply in our capacity to grow, heal, and build.
May faith guide us, now and always.
